"home sick"

Today is my day off. How nice is to be sick on YOUR DAY OFF?????????????? Fever, sore throat, stuff head, headache.

Saturday was a crazy day. Had Nicole to a volleyball tourney by 8:00 am, watched her 1st 2 games (she did awesome), had to rush to Tyler's football game by 10:00 am in Millersburg, rushed to get to work by 12:00 and was hoping to make it back to the tourney before it was over. I was getting text reports that her team was dominating and into the championships. Rushed back to the club and missed the entire thing. They took 1st place and had just gotten their metals. I felt like the worst mom in the world running in as it was all over. Then I heard how awesome Nicole did. Glad she did well, but I missed it. LeRoy was home sick (nice he gave me this sh*t), so I called G-ma Mary to fill in for me. Thanks!!!! So she represented as did Nicole's boyfriend Michell (nice kid). So I took Nicole and boyfriend to Subway for lunch and started to get a sore throat. Sat night was watching movies with the kids and just started going downhill. Woke up in middle of night feeling like crap. Layed on the couch all day yesterday and feel horrible today. BFF called me this morning and it's her day off too and she is sick too!! (stomache). We haven't even hung out this weekend. We always get sick when we actually have a day off. I think we are working too hard and our bodies can't handle it when we finally slow down and try to relax! So much for getting anything done today.

Do you think these outfits are "too casual" for work? (I am a hairdresser).

"waiting.................."

I am waiting for it to feel like fall. I want to be this girl. Right now. She looks so peaceful and serene. I want the mornings to be crisp and cool and sunny. I want to stay home and keep my house picked up, laundry done and cook. To make fun treats for my kids and have time to get to their sporting events. Have lunch with my BFF and other friends. Dress in cute fall sweaters, boots & jeans. Sew, scrapbook, blog, read, shop, make photo albums, organize closets, clean the garage, purge "piles" in my house, burn smelly-good candles, catch up on DVR's, rent movies, sleep in once in awhile, get a facial, and just have my life in order. Am I asking for too much? Carve these cute pumpkins...................
Decorate my front door.................

"my day off"

I know it doesn't feel like fall and it's supposed to be 88 degrees today, but if I turn on the air conditioning and don't leave the house, I can pretend that it is fall. I also have a little boy home from school today with a sore throat. So................I have been so domestic today. I have baked cookies for Nicole and her friends when they get home from school. Almost finished up ALL of the laundry (that happens like once a year), put chicken in the crockpot for dinner with some rice, baked a weight watchers pumpkin pie, made homemade granola, cleaned out the fridge, blogged :) , and made Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner tomorrow night with whole wheat angel hair pasta. And it's only 2:00 in the afternoon! Here is the recipe. (I want this to be my life every day, I know to some this sounds weird and for people who hate to cook, just downright wrong, but I love it.) And my house smells like pumpkin pie and cookies right now...
Spaghetti Bolognese
3/4 lb. ground beef (Lean)
1 onion, chopped
1/2 red pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 carrot chopped (I used shreds that I found at Walmart yesterday)
1 can mushrooms, drained
1 (14 oz) can italian style diced tomatoes
1 can kidney beans, drained
1 tbsp. tomato paste
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 c. fat free milk
1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 lb. whole wheat angel hair pasta
Spray non-stick skillet with Pam spray. Add beef and cook until browned. Drain. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened, about 5 min. Stir in carrot and cook about 2 min. Stir in mushrooms, tomatoes, paste, kidney beans and spices. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered 10 min. Add milk and cook uncovered until sauce is thickened (it is already pretty thick), about 15 min. Salt & Pepper.
Cook pasta according to pkg directions. Drain and divide among 4 plates and top with the sauce. Garnish with basil if desired. Enjoy
Pumpkin pie.

"and the Giants win........"

Tyler & I went to my nephew Drake's football game today in Lebanon. They won! Woo hoo. (they beat West Albany :) Our boys are growin' up. It was very hot for being so late in September. It's supposed to be fall! It was nice seeing the boys. That's two days in a row I have seen Drake. He is quite the superstar football player.

Gunner & Tyler. They got bored with the game and went and played on the soccer fields. And ate nachos. I love all these boys.
