"cherry garcia craving"

For some reason I want some "Cherry Garcia" ice cream. I think I have only had it once in my life, but it sounds good. Not sure if I'm going to make the effort to go to the store and buy it. I probably should since Thursday I am back on my diet and exercising......

It would go sooooooo good with my "27 dresses" movie. hmmmmmm. should I do it?

"27 dresses"

My sweet husband rented this movie for me to watch tonight. (now that Big Brother is over, I have NOTHING to watch). Hope it's good.
BFF. You should come over and watch it with me.............

"let's go here"

Don't you just want to go lay under this tree and read a great book?

"dinner & a movie"

Going to a movie and dinner with some friends tonight. Very excited, I don't get out much. We are going to see "Baby Mamma" and then go to "Big River" for dinner in Corvallis. Actually, it's a restaurant called "101" that I think is connected to Big River. Same owners maybe? I will report on the movie and the food tomorrow.

"I Love Cheesy Biscuits"

Ingredients:
2 ½ cups Bisquick baking mix

¾ cup cold whole milk
4 tablespoons cold butter (1/2 stick)
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 heaping cup grated cheddar cheese
Bush on Top:
2 tablespoons butter, melted
¼ teaspoon dried parsley flakes
½ teaspoon garlic powder
pinch salt
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
2. Combine Bisquick with cold butter in a medium bowl using a pastry cutter or a large fork. You don't want to mix too thoroughly. There should be small chunks of butter in there that are about the size of peas. Add cheddar cheese, milk, and ¼ teaspoon garlic. Mix by hand until combined, but don't over mix.
3. Drop approximately ¼-cup portions of the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet using an ice cream scoop.
4. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits begin to turn light brown.
5. When you take the biscuits out of the oven, melt 2 tablespoons butter is a small bowl in your microwave. Stir in ½ teaspoon garlic powder and the dried parsley flakes. Use a brush to spread this garlic butter over the tops of all the biscuits. Use up all of the butter. Makes one dozen biscuits.

"not a fan"

I am not at all a fan of Marge Simpson. Her hair is ugly and blue and she is indeed married to Homer.
I know this is random, but a certain someone will know what I'm talkin' about.
Marge (big blue) has left the building. (oh, I wish)

still dreaming......

still dreaming of a place to call my own.... this one would do. Took this at ikea (I want to live at IKEA).

a place to call my own......

Ok..............all I am asking for is a little area to call my own. Something like this. I have some great ideas and have some great stuff to achieve this, but I have one problem. My house isn't big enough. Last night LeRoy and I moved furniture around and just couldn't find a spot that this would work. (at least he vaccumed under the couch, it needed it. found some interesting little treasures.) I know it can be done, I need help. Anyone????

"youth"

Youth is not a period of time. It is a state of mind, a result of the will, a quality of the imagination. A victory of courage over timidity, of the taste of adventure over the love of comfort. A man doesn't grow old because he has lived a certain number of years. He grows old when he deserts his ideal. The years may wrinkle his skin but deserting his ideal wrinkles his soul.
Preoccupations, fears, doubts and despair are the dust before death. You will remain young as long as you are open to what is beautiful, good and great - receptive to the messages of other men and women, of nature and of God. If one day you should become bitter, pessimistic and gnawed by despair, may God have mercy on your old man's soul." by George MacArthur

"auction madness"

Last night was the big night. The annual Boy's and Girls Club of Albany's annual auction. My BFF is the "big kahuna" in charge. I find myself volunteering at all of her fun events. I was privileged enough to wear a pair of 1 carat diamond earrings (worth $3000) all night to be auctioned off. The theme was Hawaiian. We look hot.

"control"

This is definately something to think about often. I am reading Robin McGraw's book "Inside My Heart" and this really stuck out to me.

"You can't control other people. You cannot control what they say, what they think, or what they do. People have the right to think and say whatever they want to. But you have the right not to take it to heart, and not to react."

Enough said......................................

cherry blossom

I found this cute pink, cherry blossom patterned candle holder at an antique store today. I had about 30 minutes to spare before I picked up my son at school. I wandered into an antique store near his school and found this charming piece. I am going to turn it upside down and use it as a little cupcake plate (or for home-made truffles). Very cute. Makes me happy. $6.00 is a cheap thrill.

Picture wall

Here is what I am going to do on a wall in my family room. I got this idea while I was waiting for my teenage daughter trying on clothes at "Abercrombie Kids" and this was outside of the dressing room. I just ordered all of my prints from Costco online and they will be enlarged and sent directly to my house. Yippee. Been wanting to do this for a long time. Have been collecting frames for a long time.

Making homemade pizza for dinner. Have a house full of teenage girls. They eat a lot. Making monkey bread in the morning. It's a tradition...they expect it.

Bring evaporated milk, brown sugar and butter to aboil until thickened; pour over biscuits. Bake @ 350 for 28 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from pan. Serve warm. Makes 12 servings
