On our way to Tyler's 1st baseball game. This year we are trying JBO. More competitive and the kids seem to have good skills. GO REBELS! Future South Albany star :)
They look awesome in their uniforms.
So we get to the field in Philomath and the boys start warming up. I look over and panic. Tyler is warming up as pitcher. I didn't know he was a pitcher. He had expressed that he wanted too, but what 9 year old boy doesn't want to be a pitcher. Obviously he's been practicing!
He was starting pitcher.
He struck out his very 1st batter by throwing strikes. Thank goodness!!!! He pitched a great game (only hit 1 kid, oops). He struck out several batters and only had one "bad" pitch, so to speak. After he "walked" the kid he hit, he went over to 1st base to shake the kids hand. Great sportsmanship. I love that the coaches are teaching them that. Coaches and "uber-dads are quite vocal. Mostly positive. But still loud.
He didn't do as well up to bat. Struck out both times. But he went out swinging. He will get better. Practice, practice, practice.
We lost by one run in the last inning!! We will get them next time.
